Los Angeles Tuxedo Tyrants Engage Boxing Champs to Fight Media Information Blackouts

Cutting Edge War-zone Correspondent Non-profit, Tiziano Project, Teams Up with Elite Party Club to Raise Awareness by Chessboxing for Charity this Saturday, April 23rd, 8pm - 2am

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - April 22, 2011 – Following on the heels of their successful fundraising feat for Enterprize Community Partners with LivingHomes founder Steve Glenn, Tuxedo Tyrants, an innovative community fundraising event platform, has teamed up with Tiziano Project, a global organization dedicated to citizen journalism in war-torn regions of the world. The Tuxedo Tyrants club plans to raise funds and awareness for Tiziano Project by combining an elegant cocktail party with a world-class Chessboxing match in Los Angeles to take place on April 23, 2011.

Chessboxing is a new sport in which four-minute rounds of chess are followed by three-minute rounds of boxing in an alternating fashion. Combining the precision and strategy of a chess wiz with the sweaty muscle of a boxing champ, each contestant strives to win by either a checkmate or knocking out their opponent.

"We're proud to host a fundraiser for such a noble cause as the Tiziano Project,” said Tuxedo Tyrants Co-Founder Douglas Campbell. “By combining well-dressed pranksterism with charitable cause, the Tuxedo Tyrants know how to wake up the next day with more than just a hangover. We wake up knowing that we've made the world just a little bit brighter than the day before. Now that's a memorable experience!”

“I am absolutely thrilled to be partnering with Tuxedo Tyrants for this evening of fun for a good cause,” said Andrew McGregor, founder of the Tiziano Project and proud chessboxing champion under he name of ‘The Fightin’ Philanthropist’. “We live in a time of unprecedented information boom and technology progress, yet millions of people around the world live in a paradoxical media blackout, lacking the ability to learn and share news with the global community. This event is a reminder that in order to evoke real global change, a community must engage the power of both minds and bodies to reach beyond hardship and limitations.”

The Tuxedo Tyrants’ chessboxing fight and fundraiser is to take place in a warehouse in Venice, Los Angeles. To RSVP and support the initiative visit http://tuxedotyrants.eventbrite.com/. All proceeds go to the Tiziano Project.
